Sales Account Manager

Description of Duties
Zend is in a unique position of having a tremendous amount of in-bound interest in its solutions similar to that experienced by open source companies such as RedHat, mySQL and JBoss. We receive over 100,000 downloads of our software each month, and similar to salesforce.com need to be selective in who we reach out to. We need a new breed of sales executive that has been a seasoned and successful field sales exec, yet has the ability to manage a territory. The ideal candidate for Zend understands that enterprises are getting more comfortable doing business from a remote platform, and uses their time judiciously in deciding when to travel into the field.Job Description
- Effectively forecast business
- Achieve and exceed monthly and annual quota
- Follow up to qualified inbound leads
- Maintain pipeline of 3x quota
- Deliver online presentations and demonstrations, travel to accounts as needed
- Build and maintain knowledge base in order to be resident expert on Zend Technologies products and services
- Maintain a weekly outbound phone & email campaign targeting top prospects
- Work with Marketing to coordinate local regional seminars and Webinars
Skills and Experience
- The ability to perform product demos and articulate value proposition
- Experience selling to and managing Global 3000 customers
- The ability and experience to close $50K - $1 million deals
- Experience selling to CTOs, VP Application Development/Engineering, and the development community
- Experience selling application servers and developers tools a plus (JBoss, BEA Weblogic, Wily Technologies, Websphere, Rational, Remedy, BMC, …)
- Experience selling within a software as service subscription based model a plus
- Experience with complex selling and consultative selling methodologies is a must
- Familiarity with salesforce.com (or other CRM) automation applications
- Ability to work well in a team environment and partner with internal and external resources
- Experience managing a small team is a plus
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, persistence, aggressiveness, resourcefulness required
- Ability to listen well, communicate and qualify effectively, over the telephone to all levels
- Ability to correspond with colleagues and report to superiors in English
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years software sales experience with proven over achievement of sales quota
