Sales Development Representative

Description of Duties:

Zend is growing rapidly and recruiting a Sales Development Rep for our Americas sales team. This vital role will prospect, develop, and qualify leads for our regional sales teams. Reporting to the Director of Inside Sales, the Sales Development Representative (SDR) will work with the North America sales team and be responsible for owning the lead from inception through qualification and nurturing before passing it onto the applicable regional account managers. Successful SDRs will be eligible for promotion to Account Managers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prospect, qualify and develop leads
  • Perform outbound calling for lead generation
  • Manage inbound prospects and provide follow-up to marketing campaigns
  • Responsible for building sales/lead pipeline with qualified opportunities
  • Successfully manage and overcome prospect objections
  • Record all activity in SFDC and update records as necessary
  • Pass qualified opportunities and related information to the sales team to create an effective lead hand-off
  • Research accounts, identify key players, generate interest and develop accounts to stimulate opportunity

Skills and Experience:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years of business or telesales experience (software sales a plus)
  • Strong desire to be in Technology Sales
  • Positive and energetic phone skills, excellent listening skills, strong writing skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • High energy and positive attitude
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Prior experience with salesforce.com CRM a plus
  • Prior telephone sales experience a plus
