Senior Accountant

Zend is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant, located in Cupertino, CA to perform accounting work requiring a breadth of accounting knowledge, particularly in the areas of month end close, financial reporting, intercompany transactions, international accounting and consolidating of foreign subsidiaries.

The Senior Accountant will be a key contributor to the internal control environment and work closely with the Controller and external auditors on the annual audit. The successful candidate will be a high-energy individual who has demonstrated the ability to simultaneously manage multiple priorities.

Description of Duties:

• Ensure business transactions are recorded and reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Work closely with team members to assist with the month-end close in other areas.
• Research & explain expense fluxes/variances for monthly internal management reporting.
• Assist in preparing Federal and State tax filings, including Sales & Use Tax, Franchise Tax and Property Tax.
• Assist in various other accounting functions as necessary and work on various internal projects.

Skills and Experience:

• BS in Finance or Accounting required
• Preferably 4+ years of general accounting experience in high growth technology environments
• Strong understanding of US GAAP.
• Experience with subsidiary consolidations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, macros) preferred.
• Accounting/ERP systems experience; SaaS experience a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
• Creative and innovative team player with a positive approach and a focus on business issues.
