The Solutions Consultant sells Zend’s solutions with Sales/Account Managers on new and existing accounts and is the technical business partner for Sales/Account Managers.  The SC supports Zend’s business and revenue goals by providing high quality business and technical presentations and demonstrations. The SC will also provide input on the qualification of prospects and play a significant role in the creation of business strategies.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer goals and challenges and establish Zend’s product as the best solution available
• Present Zend’s technology infrastructure, including demonstrating deep familiarity with hardware, software, networking and security stack
• Participate in all product, sales, and process training and certification to acquire and maintain the knowledge necessary to be effective
• Attain quarterly and annual objectives assigned by management
• Respond effectively to RFIs/RFPs as necessary
• Provide on-going technical support to well-qualified prospects conducting evaluations. This may include training, trouble-shooting, and best-practices consulting
• Work with Professional Services team to get estimates for customizations and communicate requirements after completion of sale
• Document and communicate product feedback and new requirements, and competitive intelligence from the field to product mgmt/engineering
• Travel domestically

Required Skills/Experience

• Minimum 2 years Sales Engineering/Professional Services experience.
• Excellent technical skills related to web applications (PHP, SQL, JavaScript, HTML)
• Familiarity with open source, application servers, development environments, production IT operations, compliance.  
• Experience with PHP (2yrs), MySQL, HTML, and JavaScript
• Prior experience selling JBoss, Wylie, Weblogic, Websphere, Redhat, Borland, ASP/.NET, etc.
• Supported or developed for a large PHP site, or implemented a production rollout of a PHP project (SugarCRM, OScommerce, Joomla, Drupal, etc.)
• Exhibits good planning and time management skills
• Possess strong sense of teamwork, integrity, self motivation, positive attitude, and works to solve problems
• Ability to work well in a team environment (yet work independently on complex problems) and partner with internal and external resources
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience developing and presenting clear and concise product briefings
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent is preferred, although not required
