Technical Support Engineer

Position Summary

This position is based in Ramat Gan, Israel.

Zend Technologies, the PHP leader, is looking for more Technical experts to support the growing worldwide business of Zend.

  • Provides Web/Phone/On site support to Zend’s enterprise and developer customers on company products
  • Work closely with Sales and R&D departments
  • Build relationships with and interact with various departments to help resolve customer issues
  • Resolve a large variety of technical issues by troubleshooting via phone or WebEx, replication in our extensive lab, and gathering information for escalation to our engineering team
  • Be available after hours as part of our rotating on-call schedule
  • Perform product demos to prospective customers
  • Provide technical assistance during sales process
  • Provide technical training to customers and company personnel
  • Full time position

Personal Qualifications

  • Highly technical person, knowledge of: PHP/Perl programming, SQL & DB’s, Web servers, networking, open-source software
  • Excellent Linux/Unix skills, Good Windows admin knowledge
  • 2+ years proven experience in PHP/Perl/C development
  • 2+ years proven experience working with customers as a Technical Support/Sales Engineer
  • Ability to talk with developers and articulate solutions
  • Excellent English-mastery required, additional language - advantage
  • Very good human skills - Service oriented, responsible and well organized
  • High levels of drive, determination and enthusiasm

Desirable

  • Have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science
  • Experience working at a start-up company
  • An active member of the Open Source community
