Zend - The PHP Company

2009 Dutch PHP Conference in Amsterdam

June 11, 2009 - June 13, 2009: Amsterdam RAI

Please join Zend at the Dutch PHP Conference on June 11-13 in Amsterdam. The conference will be completely in English and will highlight sessions about PHP Know-how, Technology, Best Practices, Networking, Tips & Tricks.

Matthew Weier O'Phinney, Software Architect for Zend Framework, will present a workshop tutorial that will introduce you to the Zend Framework project, and give a brief synopsis of its history and what it offers, including the new features available in version 1.8. The bulk of the workshop will focus on using Zend Framework. Particular attention will be paid to its various extension points -- its rich set of plugin architectures, and how they can be leveraged to customize applications. Matthew will also present the “Contribute!” session which will look at various ways you can contribute to open source projects, and some common tools you can use to do so.

Eli White, Zend Community Relations Manager and Editor-in-Chief of DevZone will present a sessions titled “Habits of Highly Scalable Web Applications” which will go into depth on a few of the most common techniques for making your website scalable. Eli will also present a session about “Code & Release Management” which will discuss how to manage your codebase, and how to manage releases (often intertwined). It will cover topics of coding standards and focus heavily on how you choose to use versioning tools to handle your development and release processes. It will have a distinct Subversion(SVN) flavor to the talk, but the concepts will not be specific to SVN.
