Zend Server for IBM i 5.1 Now Available

Zend Server 5.1 introduces a RESTful Web API and improvements to performance and stability that benefit PHP application deployments running on IBM i. This update also delivers native IBM i support for Oracle database drivers and a new, open source, PHP Toolkit (beta) developed in collaboration with IBM.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM COMMON 2011 (MAY 1-4, MINNEAPOLIS) - ALISON BUTTERILL

This annual meeting is one of the major events for providing education and direction to IBM i customers. There was a great positive energy this year amongst the speakers, the attendees and the vendors.

At the Opening Session, IBM General Manager for Power and System z, Tom Rosamilia covered IBM's Centennial, including major accomplishments in both business and technology. Additionally, Eric Brown, IBM Research, highlighted the IBM Watson win at Jeopardy!

Sessions and hands-on labs were given on all aspects of IBM i - availability, database, systems management, application development and, of course, many excellent sessions on working with PHP on i.
