Zeev Suraski co-founded Zend Technologies in 1999 together with Zend CEO Andi Gutmans. As CTO, Zeev leads the company's research & development teams. He was a lead contributor to PHP starting in 1997, when he and Andi developed the foundation for PHP 3. That new version was a turning point for PHP — the foundational language for leading social apps and networks including Facebook, Zynga, Drupal and Yahoo! Today PHP powers more than 20 million websites and enjoys a following of over 5 million developers. Zeev spearheaded the PHP 4 project, and contributed to PHP 5. Today, PHP is considered the most popular Web development platform in the world. He helped to establish Zend as a leading Web solutions provider, secure venture funding, and grow Zend's presence in the European market.
