Supported Browsers:

  • MS Internet Explorer 7 and above
  • Mozilla Firefox 2.0 and above
  • Apple Safari 3.0 and above

Software requirements:

In order to set up a cluster, you must have one or more Zend Server instances for Zend Server Cluster Manager to manage. Zend Server 5.0.2 is the minimum required Zend Server version, and Zend Server 5.0.3 is required for some Zend Server Cluster Manager features to work.

Hardware requirements:

Zend Server Cluster Manager must be installed on a server (either physical or virtual) that does not have Zend Server installed on it. (Note that Zend Server Cluster Manager and Zend Server can be installed in different virtual machines running on the same physical machine.)

Database requirements:

A MySQL 5.0.x or 5.1.x server is needed to run Zend Server Cluster Manager.
  • On Windows, the Zend Server Cluster Manager installer can optionally install MySQL as part of the product installation process.
  • On Linux, we recommend using the MySQL server shipped with your Linux distribution.

Licensing requirements:

Zend Server Cluster Manager is licensed for use based on the number of servers in the cluster. To use Zend Server Cluster Manager, you will need both:

  • Zend Server Cluster Manager:
One license of Zend Server Cluster Manager for every server in the cluster.
(Note -- the system on which Zend Server Cluster Manager itself is installed is not part of the cluster, and does not need a license.)

  • Zend Server:
One license of Zend Server for every server in the cluster.

Example:
For a 3-node cluster, you will need 3 licenses for Zend Server Cluster Manager and 3 licenses for Zend Server.
