Zend Studio - VMware Workstation Integration
Virtualize Your PHP Development Processes with Zend Studio
Your development environment is likely to be quite different from that used in production. For example, you might be developing on Windows, whereas your application will be running on Linux in production. This discrepancy is the source of many issues that often delay application deployments.
With Zend Studio, you can enhance your development and testing processes by running and debugging your application in a virtual, production-like environment. Through an integration with VMware Workstation, you can set your development server to a local virtual machine that mirrors your production environment, and deploy your code directly onto that virtual server from the Zend Studio interface.
Furthermore, with everyone in your development organization testing their PHP code in identical virtual machines, you can ensure consistency across the development and testing teams, and speed up your development.

Getting Started
You'll need:
- Zend Studio
- VMware Workstation 7.x (preferably 7.1.1)
- A virtual machine running Zend Server -- configure your own or download a sample (username/password: studio/logitech)
From Zend Studio, select "Run | Run as | PHP Application on VM". Specify the virtual machine settings, and you are ready to deploy and debug your PHP code on the virtual server.
For more information, see the Zend Studio User Guide.
