This course demonstrates the value of PHP by providing easy & robust methods for moving RPG applications to the Internet or company's Intranet.

Training begins with PHP & HTML basics  and shows you how to exploit key features of Zend Studio - to improve coding & debugging processes. It then discusses Zend Core & the full-featured PHP API Toolkit. You'll also learn how to access your existing files & objects, as well as how to harness the power of thousands of open source applications to provide custom solutions for your projects.

• What is PHP
• Why use PHP: The benefits for RPG programmers
• Introduction to HTML: tags, tables, forms; embedding PHP into HTML, HTML into PHP
• Increasing code efficiency & performance through Zend Studio for i5 (includes code completion, syntax highlighting, context sensitive templates for Toolkit, etc.)
• Debugging Tools
• Zend Core management
• Connecting to a DB2 data source & accessing data
  
• I5 PHP API Toolkit
• Customizing Open Source applications
• Creating & consuming Web Services from PHP
• Participants course materials include a PHP & API Toolkit Job Aid

• Speakers and microphone or a headset (if you want to be able to talk with the instructor via voice)
• For some courses, we have created a Virtual Machine using VMWare to provide you with a full, hands-on experience. The instructions for the VMWare information will be sent a few days prior to the start of the course and will require that you have it ready for the first day of the class.
