Q: Which minor PHP version is being used in Zend Core?
The most up-to-date! Zend continuously releases updates to the PHP version in Zend Core to all customer with a current Zend Core support subscription. Updates are available for Zend Core subscribers shortly after the PHP open source committee releases new PHP minor versions. In certain cases, especially realting to security issues, these updates will be available as soon as they are ready and not only as part of minor PHP version updates.
Q: How do I install Zend Core and PHP updates?
Zend Core and PHP updates are available through the Zend Network. These can be downloaded and installed automatically using the Zend Updater GUI or, if your machine is behind a firewall and does not have a direct internet connection, by downloading the Zend Update Package from the Zend Network site and manually installing it.

Updates are available only for Mini PHP versions – i.e. those comprised of 3 digits. (For example: PHP 5.2.1 to PHP 5.2.2) Medium and Major PHP versions will be available as part of a new Zend Core version, as they may break backward compatibility and require more extensive QA cycles.
