To help drive web and mobile innovation, we deliver the enterprise PHP tools and services organizations need to meet their requirements, including accelerated deployment cycles, quality user experiences, and reduced costs. We also help companies that still run legacy platforms such as IBM i, build modern solutions using PHP.
For nearly two decades, we have helped evolve the PHP language and how it is used by global leaders. Here is a snapshot of our historical milestones:
Our History
1997
Andi Gutmans and Zeev Suraski create PHP 3, an open source scripting language based on the initial version of PHP, created by Rasmus Lerdorf.
1999
Gutmans and Suraski create the company Zend Technologies — and PHP 4, which includes an open source parser for PHP 4 called Zend Engine.
2006
Zend Technologies releases Zend Framework an open source, web-application deployment framework.
2009
The first Zend Server is released. It runs on Linux and Windows — and includes PHP, Zend Framework, Z-Ray monitoring tools, and enterprise support for PHP.
2009
Zend Technologies collaborates with other organizations including IBM and Microsoft, to create the Simple API for Cloud Application Services.
2019
Rogue Wave Software transitions Zend Framework to an open source project called Laminas, which is hosted by the Linux Foundation.
2019
Rogue Wave Software is acquired by Perforce Software. And the company becomes Zend by Perforce.
