Senior Account Manager

Zend is growing rapidly, and recruiting a Senior Inside Account Manager for our Americas sales team. This vital role will be a key contributor in generating net-new enterprise software business and growing install-base renewals within his/her respective region. Description of Duties:

• Prospect, Develop and Close a continuous pipeline of opportunities
• Identify, penetrate, and acquire new business
• Work closely with team members to assist with the month-end close in other areas
• Managing full cycle sales deals to closure
• Maintain account, opportunity, and track sales activity in SFDC
• Accurately forecast business, sales pipeline, and proper opportunity stages
• Achieve and exceed quotas on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Calling and emailing executives at all levels to facilitate deal closure
• Deliver online presentations and demonstrations with the support of sales engineers

Skills and Experience:

• Self-motivated, Hunter mentality and a strong work ethic
• Ability to work in a rapidly expanding and changing environment
• Ability to penetrate and develop new business over the phone
• Demonstrate capacity to gain customer commitments and execute solution selling
• Ability to balance transactional business with larger enterprise opportunities
• Experience selling to CTOs, CIOs, and VP Development/Engineering, and the developer community
• Experience selling application servers and developers tools a plus (JBoss, mySQL, Oracle, Weblogic, Wily, Websphere, Rational)
• SaaS experience within a high-velocity business preferred
• Having worked at companies like Oracle, BEA, Borland a plus
• Experience in start-up environments a plus
• Familiarity with salesforce.com

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years quota carrying, successful software sales experience (SaaS preferred)
• Track record of over achieving quota
• Technically adept, with ability to position new technology quickly
• Direct, Channel and new business sales experience
